Blog & Copy Writing for the Storytellers themselves

For photographers Who want to start painting pictures with words Too.

As a wedding photographer for the past seven years I know the struggle… the one where the wedding is done and the gear is packed away, your fingers are numb from staring at colors for hours to get just the right skin tones and debating “is that too much grain??” until even the smallest decisions seem monumental. Now after that whole saga, you find yourself sitting at your desk, or maybe if you’re like me, at your favorite coffee shop and a blank page sits in the seat across from you. The white canvas mocks you and dares you to pen the perfect words for your already perfect photos… but your brain feels just as empty as the page before you.

That’s the struggle I want to help you with. I’ve firsthand seen the impact blogging the weddings you capture has on your business and I want that for you too.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

hi! I’m Lauren

Normally the lowercase heading floating above these words would get on my last nerve but I’ll allow it for creative purposes, as I’ll do almost anything (like hiking, ewww) for a good photo. The lowercase, anti-capitalization tendencies of Gen Z happens to be one of my biggest pet peeves. Maybe it’s because I was a Language Arts teacher before going full time with photography… yes I’m the nerd that always loved English class and actually enjoyed writing the occasional essay or discussing the latest article. And don’t get me started on dissecting the figurative language and uncovering a plot twist of the century from one of Poe’s classic short stories.

I’ve rediscovered my passion for writing my own stories amidst the photography world in the form of blogging. Now I want to write your stories, your clients’ stories. I picked up my camera in high school over seven years ago and lately I’ve been picking up my pen too.

As we enter the height of fall, driving up the familiar mountain road and around the twists and turns, pops of color were starting to emerge.  We walked into the Vineyards welcome center and Madison’s sweet momma greeted us, ready for her other daughter to tie the knot.  I’m not sure how this family handled both girls getting married within a couple months of each other; I can’t imagine that  with my girls!!!  These girls have the cutest style and of course Madison had all the gorgeous details ready for me, not to mention the generous amount of extra florals I got to use in these flatlays.  Some of the girls were returning bridesmaids from Sydney’s wedding and they all enjoyed finishing up getting ready, dressed in the cutest pj sets– in a shade of burnt orange hinting at the color of the bridesmaids dresses.

“Sometimes there are days that just feel like a true gift from God– a long awaited answered promise.  Sarah and Dylan’s day was one of those days and being an eye-witness to their love was a true blessing and privilege of my career.  This Knoxville wedding was both elegant and vibrant at the same time!!  It was a true reflection of loving like Jesus and having Him at the center of your marriage.  He was so present; for this reason and others I cried multiple times watching the story of their day and love unfold.

The wedding took place at The Standard, a unique industrial venue in the heart of downtown Knoxville.  Walking up the stairs to the bridal sweet sounds of laughter and gleeful energy floated through the air… along with Sarah’s playlist blasting anything from Hannah Montana, Taylor Swift, and worship music to gangster rap (as she described it)!  We were greeted by the sweetest bridal party including a past bride of mine and some friends.  Familiar faces are always an added bonus and I’m so grateful I met Sarah at this past bride’s wedding in Tennessee!  The bridal suite at the Standard has been meticulously laid out with attention to every detail and the vintage wall with peeling paint forming an almost watercolor effect stole the show, not to mention the light!!!  This paired with Sarah’s bubbly, yet graceful personality truly filled the room with warm, fun-loving energy!!  At one point she was literally jumping on the couch with her bridesmaids and flower girls seemingly without a care in the world!!  Dylan shared the kind, easy-going personality as he got ready with His groomsmen in the Groom’s suite downstairs.  They might have been the most chill group of groomsmen ever and so go-with-the-flow.  As Dylan went through the motions of the final getting ready moments, you could see the sweet anticipation building for the moment he would finally get to see Sarah.”

Cool couples. Cutie seniors.
Joy-filled photos.
Good vibes only.
