~ Teagan & Logan
My journey with Teagan and Logan started at a coffee shop last spring as we began dreaming for their day. When Teagan shared her vision of wildflowers and whimsy, I was hooked. Their ceremony was to be held just down the road from my hometown nestled in the rolling hills of Lancaster, Kentucky. Not only that but Logan’s family literally BUILT their wedding venue from the ground up, just for their wedding. If that isn’t the kindest, most amazing gesture ever I don’t know what is!! This day was a rainbow on a cloudy day, with Teagan and Logan’s love for each other shining through the clouds and the colorful flowers adding warmth.
I arrived at a cozy cabin style air bnb where they were all getting ready. Teagan was carefree and the vision of Rapunzel getting adorned with a flower covered braid, perfect for her whimsical theme. As she got ready we captured some fun photos with her bridesmaids. The festivities were put on pause momentarily as a shower rolled through. Although we had to wait for the first look for a bit, Teagan didn’t let the rain damper her spirits. She celebrated and danced with her girls on the porch as a blanket of rain surrounded it. While we waited in the car for the rain to clear, she made the most of the moment with her best friends and kept things lighthearted, documenting the experience in a vlog as a fun keepsake. Finally, we pulled up the long gravel drive to the overlook spot where the ceremony would be held. Under a little tree giving view to the blue horizon, Teagan and Logan shared their first glance at each other. The spot was sentimental to them and their relationship; they also exchanged gifts under the safety of an umbrella. As the rain lifted to a sprinkle, we took advantage, capturing some portraits amidst a view of the Kentucky landscape, the blue horizon heightened by the cloudy skies!
The ceremony had a beautiful arch covered in wildflowers, that just so happened to be arranged by a past bride of mine who is an amazingly talented florist! The reception space was a perfect mix of modern and classic, built by Logan’s family for this very purpose! One of the cutest touches was the coffee cart by Lane of Roses, a women’s ministry out of Lexington, Ky. As if the night couldn’t get any better after dancing with all their friends and family under the ambiance of twinkle lights, Teagan and Logan took me up on some sunset photos at the point right before their exit. This might’ve been the most epic exit I’ve ever captured, as it included a helicopter that was to take them to start their honeymoon at none other than the Kentucky Castle?! That’s like a literal fairytale and maybe my Rapunzel reference earlier wasn’t so far off!
Teagan and Logan, thank you so much for having me capture such a stunning and sentimental day!
