Jessica & Ben > A Timeless Wedding at White Hall State historic Site

This wedding was everything classy and timeless wrapped into one… partly because of the gorgeous venue, the elegant theme, and all the little details that were executed perfectly for this day. Additionally, several other aspects of this wedding made it an extra special one. Jessica’s mom manages the venue, White Hall — the historic home located in the heart of Richmond, Ky. The property is beautiful with tons of nature and scenic views that make it the ideal backdrop for any event. Jessica and Ben let their calm, happy personalities show through and really celebrated the day with their closest friends and family. The atmosphere felt welcoming and family-oriented, whether you were family or not, you felt that you were. From the time Jessica reached out to me and our initial coffee date we connected! I actually went to high school and attended college with her brother, so it was nice photographing friends and familiar faces this day. Earlier this summer, I captured their engagement session at White Hall, which gave us a chance to scope out all the good spots and really explore the grounds, as I learned more about this couple. Jessica and Ben met through mutual friends, and the rest is history. They seemed so ready for this next chapter and I couldn’t be more excited to share a small part of it! To start turning the page, there are some moments of this wedding that should especially be highlighted.

We started the day getting ready in some of the historic rooms in the house at White Hall, adorned with shimmering chandeliers, vintage touches, mirrors, and wallpaper. Jessica and Ben exchanged gifts, one of which were drum sticks with an engraving for Ben. Jessica shared a sweet moment with all the important men in her life participating in a first look of the glowing bride. Another first look— the one that everyone was really waiting for— took place when the groom saw his bride for the first time. This was one of those first looks that shouldn’t be interrupted because the excitement and love was just apparent! Unique touches, with slight sways from tradition continued in the ceremony. When it was time for the adorable ring bearer and flower girl to do their thing, they rode down the path in front of the house in toy cars, making their grand entrance. Rather than walking down the aisle, Jessica was escorted by her dad out of the gorgeous mansion and down the steps to make her way to her groom. Later her dad played another role, singing a beautiful song for the couple that honored God as well. Lastly, the reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, dancing, and great Mexican food! Guests continued dancing and celebrating the couple into the night, along with the sparkler exit.

Jessica and Ben, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your day! Its been a privilege getting to know you. Please enjoy a few of favorites! I would also like to thank all the wonderful vendors who made this day possible, many of whom personally knew the bride!
