Candace & Aaron > An Earthy Outdoor Wedding at the Pinnacles in Berea

Candace and Aaron’s wedding day at the Pinnacles in Berea was truly so uniquely them from the outdoor feel to subtle boho touches and Earthy elements, it  was the best day.

Candace first reached out to me through a connection to one of my Senior’s moms, both of whom worked at the Elementary school I attended growing up.  Candace is a Speech Language Pathologist who is great at what she does; teachers and school employees always hold a special place in my heart as a previous teacher myself.  I feel like fellow teachers and I just always have this instant connection.  We also had some mutual friends/family which also made me happy to capture this special day!!  At our first coffee meeting Candace started to share her vision for lavender florals and bohemian accents, which was neat to see all of that come together!  Candace and Aaron are big hikers and lovers of nature so we photographed their engagement session at Brushy Fork in Berea.  While I normally have my go-to photo spots around the creek and field areas, at their session I felt like I had my own personal tour guides showing me trails and areas I didn’t even realize existed.

Being such outdoor enthusiasts, it was only fitting that Aaorn and Candace held their ceremony and reception at the Pinnacles.  While I have hiked the Pinnacles – only a maximum of two times a year and then often only for photo-related purposes– I had never photographed a wedding here.  The new Forestry building and Indian Fort theatre made for the perfect backdrops for this day.  Candace got ready at the historic Boone Tavern with her mom and sister, who looked beautiful in their lavender dresses.  All the details from the invitation suite, to the embroidered chacos personalized with the wedding date were so true to who Candace was. She even had wooden flowers that looked so neat! After taking advantage of the beautiful windows at Boone Tavern we ventured outside for some bridal portraits where we were met by the horse and carriage Candace booked for the day.  This added a fairytale element to the day as well!

The whole day was centered on Candace and Aaron’s love, which they celebrated surrounded by their closest friends and family making for a small, intimate ceremony at the Indian Fort Theater,  As the ceremony proceeded, Candace road up in the carriage with her Dad and made her way down the beautiful stone steps to Aaron.  Other unique aspects included the Flower Grandmas and the confetti everyone showered the couple in as the made their way back down the aisle, now as husband and wife.

After some bride and groom portraits with the Horse and Carriage, then the dreamiest light— did I mention it felt like a fairytale?– the couple was introduced at their outdoor reception.  The unique touches continued with live folk music, notes from Candace’s students with the centerpieces and a characterchure artist! Candace also had a surprise planned for the kids where the got to participate in a butterfly release!! They were so beautiful fluttering around in the golden hour light.  To end the night, Candace and Aaron had their ribbon send-off, which was so fun!

Candace and Aaron, thank you for allowing me to capture your day!!! It was a perfect representation of who you all are and the love you share.  I’m happy I got to know you all through this process and hope you enjoy some of my favorites recapping your day!
