For the past year or 2 I had this vision for a Senior Rep team. No, I didn’t invent the idea of a senior spokesmodel or senior rep team for photography, but I hope and pray I can put my own unique spin on it while simultaneously making a difference. For those who don’t know what a Senior Rep team is, it’s a program where senior girls are chosen from the county or surrounding counties to represent a photographer, participate in group and individual photo shoots, and refer others to that photographer. We basically help each other out all the while having a blast and making new friends, while snapping some cute photos along the way. Last summer I really thought about doing the Senior Rep team…. I had so many ideas and felt like I could maybe do it. However, another part of me was worried I wouldn’t have time. I also had doubts that God was calling me to do this, worried that I was just trying to make my own name known and make something of myself. Then, this summer and leading up to it I still had all these ideas and felt like taking the plunge. I still had some doubts, but prayed about doing this team and made the decision to pursue it. I truly believe God gives us passions and talents for a reason. First and foremost I want to make the name of Jesus known, but it’s okay to have some fun along the way too. So I posted about this opportunity. I had 5 of these awesome girls apply, but still wanted a couple more. I decided to reach out to a some girls who came to mind that I thought would be a great fit. I loved reading the applications and some of the girls’ answers just felt like conformation from the Lord that I was on the right track doing this program. He’s never failed to amaze me!
On August 13th we all met as a group for the first time at one of my favorite local coffee shops, Purdy’s, for the Meet & Greet. Things did not go completely as planned. Girls started showing up before I could take pictures of the set up like I wanted too, and it got off to a slightly hectic start. But, by the end of the night things were much smoother and the excitement was so fun! We discussed plans for this year and finished up the night with a mini photo shoot featuring some uncooperative balloons. I can’t wait to see where God leads this team of beautiful senior girls and what he does through this program!
