Morgan & Braden > May Wedding at Heart of Grace Farm

When I think of Morgan & Braden’s day, I think of the words “glowing” and “golden”. Perhaps this is because gold was one of their colors… or maybe it’s because of the beautiful golden hour, Kentucky sunset we were blessed with this day. Maybe it’s even because of the field of golden flowers the venue owner protected just for our photo benefit. Or maybe, it’s because the glowing and golden elements of this day were truly coming from Morgan and Braden through the love they have for each other and the lights they are in this world.

I’ll never forget when I first read Morgan’s inquiry that said something along the lines of “I see you’re a Jesus girl” and “Can we still get coffee at Purdy’s?” To this my response was, “Of course and hello dream clients!!!” But truly, in all seriousness, moments and friendships formed with clients like these are what make me incredibly thankful for the Lord’s hand in my business.

Back to this glowing and golden day in question (also, maybe the lantern send-off also had an influence on these adjectives as well). First off, I cannot say enough good things about the Heart of Grace Farm venue in London, Ky. The all-white, elegant barn is a photographer’s dream. From the getting ready space, to the gorgeous property, it is gorgeous in all aspects. We started off the day with all the details and getting ready photos. Then came the first, first look— which happened to be Morgan’s wedding day prank on Braden. When he turned around, to his disappointment and the amusement of everyone else, one of his groomsmen had tapped him on the shoulder; dress, wig, and all. Then, Morgan and Braden had their real first look, which was the cutest moment! The ceremony was set in front of a pretty little pond. During the reception, it was Morgan’s turn to surprise Braden by singing him a song. Those made for some of the sweetest photos and moments. Finally, the night ended with a unique, lantern send-off. I don’t know about everyone else, but I was thrilled to hear a bride wanted to do something other than sparklers. Don’t get me wrong, sparklers are great but sometimes it’s good to switch things up. This went well, until we realized the lanterns were flying away and the fire part seemed a little risky. It all worked out though and led to some neat, or should I say “glowing” photos. Scroll to the end to see those!
