Rebekah & Cory > A Classy Wedding in the Heart of Richmond

Rebekah and Cory tied the knot at the beautiful I Do Barn in Richmond, Kentucky. Their day was very special to me as Rebekah is my cousin and we grew up together singing in church and going to birthday parties and sleepovers. As we’ve gotten older we haven’t seen each other as much and getting close to Rebekah again by capturing this time in her life has been such a privilege. She is so deserving of everything she’s dreamed for and Cory has complimented her and her personality perfectly. Last fall, I got to drive up to Lincoln Memorial University where Rebekah and Cory met, attending med school there. I loved getting to meet Cory and catch up with Rebekah. Then, it seemed their day couldn’t get here soon enough. It was graceful, timeless, and revolved around family – a true display of Rebekah and Cory, plus what they value most.

Rebekah got ready in the bridal suite surrounded by the sweetest girls, all of whom seemed to represent different seasons of her life. Rebekah’s mom helped her get into her dress and this was special since they have such a close relationship. Rebekah shares so many qualities with her mom! Once she was fully ready, Rebekah looked like a princess– a perfect description since she has always carried herself with such grace and quiet confidence. Cory got ready with the help of his mom and groomsmen.

The ceremony went beautifully and Rebekah and Cory seemed to have so much joy just getting to finally be together in that moment – you could see the love in an almost tangible way with how they looked at each other. We captured family photos at the beautiful arch where their ceremony took place. Family was one of the most important things to Rebekah and Cory on their day so we took our time capturing that— those are the moments people hang on their wall and cherish for years to come. After capturing some more bridal party photos, we got to spend time focusing on Cory and Rebekah. We even had some pretty cool photobombers (horses) make an appearance. This was such a classic Kentucky setting and turned out to be the sweetest photos! The venue really went perfectly with Rebekah’s vision for the day from the vintage furniture, to the horses, and farmland Kentucky scenery.

Celebration of Rebekah and Cory continued into the reception. The speeches were so good and reminded everyone several times how much Rebekah loves taking pictures, a quality I love of course and it always means more when someone truly has an appreciation for photos and the importance they hold. Rebekah’s dance with her Dad was one of the sweetest moments as I know how close they are. After more dances and cutting the cake, we stole Rebekah and Cory away for a few “sunset photos” before the storm rolled in. We made it just in time and got to capture some fun movement and even had a little glowy light peaking through the trees before just as the rain started to fall. Finally, we ended the night with a sparkler send-off. They had the good ones so we made the most of the embers and kept having fun with it! Loving pictures, of course Rebekah obliged. I even got to get some creative shots drawing hearts and messages with sparklers… some of the groomsmen and I may have gotten a little carried away and had too much fun leaving all kinds of messages, one of which may have been drawing the disney channel logo circa 2000s.

Rebekah and Cory, I’ve loved connecting through this process and getting to capture your photos. It was truly a perfect day that I hope was everything you dreamed of!! A bridesmaid came up to me and said “You don’t know how much the photos mean to Rebekah” and that was such a sweet reminder of why I do what I do. Thank you for truly appreciating photos, that means so much! I hope you love some of my favorites!!
