Dusty Blue Wedding at Chenault Vineyards

Reminiscing on this beautiful summer day when Lexie and Tyler said I do in the vineyards… takes me right back to a continuous soundtrack of Taylor Swift floating in the background and butterflies fluttering in the air. These lovers said yes on top of the gorgeous overlook point at Chenault Vineyards, which happens to be one of my favorite venues in Richmond, Kentucky. Let’s just say it really felt like a fairytale and I’m so glad no one decided to speak now.  Okay… I’ll stop with the Taylor refences now, but when the bride is a fellow swiftie can you blame me? It was really such a special day and I’ve had the privilege to capture so many milestones for Lexie, capturing her wedding was just the icing on the cake… quite literally!!! I met Lexie when she joined one of my first senior rep teams and it always means so much when a client returns to let me capture yet another major life moment!

I made the drive amongst rolling fields and hills to the stunning Chenault Vineyards already boasting in its summer glory of green grapevines and expansive property, a Kentucky staple. When we walked in the revamped bridal suite, we were met with the quiet wedding day calm before the room was filled with makeup bags covering the counters and giggling bridesmaids. Shortly after Lexie and her girls, plus her sweet mama showed up, I went to work capturing all her little details. Lexie’s mom helped her in her dress and the stunning stately gold mirror reflected back images of the final fastening of buttons into place, and later her closest friends’ reactions of seeing Lexie glow in her dress. Tyler got ready with his groomsmen at the welcome center giving an illusion of being in an italian villa under the pergola. Once they were both ready it was time for a first look! My favorite place to capture this part of a wedding day is tucked away under the covering of the treeline adjacent to a small section of the vines. This allowed Lexie and Tyler to soak in the moment and exchange their vows, which were the sweetest and highlighted their dedication to serving one another. My favorite moment was when Tyler softly brushed a falling tear from Lexie’s cheek. After some portraits twirling and frolicking in the vines, we were ready for the ceremony.

Atop the point guests were seated and the sky was painted a soft blue hue, that went perfect with the vibe of this day! It was giving Lover with cotton candy tones! The ceremony peaked with a butterfly release adding to the joy and whimsy of this summer celebration. Another sweet touch was that Lexie’s Mom and Dad walked her down the aisle – a nod to the close relationship she has with each of them. Lexie and Tyler’s bridal party surrounded them after the exit down the aisle showering them with all the hugs and smiles to commemorate the just married moment.

The reception was no disappointment matching the theme of the day with shades of dusty and sky blue, accented with classic blue and white china decor. They all danced the night away with the elegant barn doors opening up to the twinkle light covered patio and a nearby white bounce house adding to the fun! My favorite part of this entire day was probably the darling ice cream truck that Lexie’s mom surprised her with! The owner of Poppy’s Ice Cream truck was the sweetest and I loved capturing some fun photos of the bride and groom with their chosen ice cream.

Lexie and Tyler, I am SO happy for you and grateful I got to capture your stunning day at Chenault Vineyards. It was an elegant, classic Kentucky vineyard wedding full of love and fun surprises!
